First of Many

Finally after several months of begging from my wife I have created a blog. About two months ago Gay (my wife Angelika) came to me and stated how awesome it would be if I made a blog to share with everyone about my experience and growth of baking. The last six months of my life have been some of the most extreme and intense moments professionally I've had the pleasure of living. Here is that story:

I spent four years trying to figure out what I wanted to be. A General Manager (GM) of a full service hotel, a Doctor (many different types), a Physical Therapist, a Biology Professor, back to a Doctor, and back to a GM of a hotel. From what I am told this is typical in a person's life, but I've always been jealous of those who knew what they were born to do. Let's bring this back up to six months ago when I began experimenting with the idea of baking in replace of going to school as school was simply not working out for me. After getting a couple of online recipes to turn out "okay" my boss at the time, Chris Fowle, gave me a bread book and suggested I make this focaccia recipe. That weekend, nine hours straight on Saturday to be exact, I saw a new passion ignite!

Fast forward to today...I am now trying to decide if Culinary School vs. Self Taught baking is the best avenue for me to direct my life. This is where the blog comes in. I know I need to be in the kitchen, baking, and I know I want to continue doing this for the rest of my life.

I can now say I found what I was born to do.
